All members have many years of experience and are asked to sit on the Board because of the relevant experience they bring to the table and the value they add to the organization.
Chairman of the Board
Patrick David is the founder and CEO of COLO-D. Responsibilities include the development of the overall vision, strategic planning, execution of the company’s ambitious business plan. Patrick, in addition, maintains COLO-D’s reputation of excellence in innovation and operation with customers and partners. Patrick David has been involved in the data center industry for over 15 years and is a pioneer in the development of large-scale data centers in Canada. Patrick has also worked has an international commercial real estate consultant at a subsidiary of the Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec and at a major law firm. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UQAM in Montreal and a law degree from University of Montreal. He is a member of the Québec Bar.
Eric Lemieux is responsible for corporate strategies and wealth management for Groupe LSR, a family-owned real estate company with diversified operations in development, management, acquisition and construction, both in Canada and the US.
Groupe LSR’s activities range from managing the National Bank Tower in Montreal to nursing homes (www.lsr.ca). For the past fifteen years, Eric has served as a Strategy Specialist on all Groupe LSR development projects. In 2012, he was appointed Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors. Since then, he has been in charge of the family office and responsible for asset buy-ins and buy-outs, wealth management (stock market and private investments), and business succession planning.
Nicolas Bélanger is a businessman, entrepreneur and active investor. Since 2002, Nicolas Bélanger has managed Groupe W Inc., a privately held growth and buyout investment fund, which he co-founded with a business partner. Through Groupe W Inc., Mr. Bélanger has led over 30 investments and he is an active board member for many such investments.
In 1995, he co-founded DTI Software. Under his guidance as President, DTI became a leader in the in-flight entertainment industry, serving over 105 international airline customers and was successfully sold to a publicly-traded German group in January 2008. In 2007, DTI was ranked in the Deloitte “Technology Fast 50”. Mr. Bélanger launched W2 in 2011 and W3 in 2013. These two additional venture capital funds were set up to provide sidecar investments in partnership with a large Québec-based institutional investment fund. The W group has invested in companies including Streamtheworld, Lumenpulse, Distech Controls, iBwave, Audiokinetic, Orckestra, PasswordBox, Worximity and COLO-D. Mr. Belanger also launched W Industries late 2015, a privately held buy-out fund focusing in the industrial space. In 2007, Ernst & Young named him “Entrepreneur of the Year”.
Since 2006, Michel Ringuet has been CEO of Master Group Inc., Eastern Canada’s leading HVAC-R equipment distributor. Prior to this, from 1990 to 2006, Mr. Ringuet held the position of Vice-President, Finance and Administration. Under his leadership, the company has grown at a steady and rapid pace and for the past six years has been listed by Deloitte, CIBC and the Globe & Mail as one of the best managed companies in Canada. During the course of his career, Mr. Ringuet has also held finance and investment positions with National Bank of Canada and BMO.
In addition to the Master Group’s, he serves on the boards of publicly traded companies such as Earth Alive Clean Technologies (EAC) and Lumenpulse Inc.(LMP). He is also on the investment committee of many private funds and is the acting Governor of the Tel-Jeunes Foundation with whom has has had a relationship for more than twelve years.
André Belzile has been the Executive Vice President, Finance and Corporate Affairs of The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. since May 2004. Prior to serving in this position, from 1992 until May 2004, he served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cascades Inc., a producer and marketer of packaging and tissue paper products. He is a chartered accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree from HEC Montréal. Mr. Belzile draws on his 23 years of experience as a chief financial officer to provide the Board with insights on financial and strategic planning matters relevant to COLO-D’s business and operations.
Since 2013, Mr. Dominique Fagnoule has worked for the National Bank of Canada where he has served as the Executive Vice-President – Information Technology and Strategic Initiatives Office. As such, he is responsible for implementing the Bank’s technological strategy. With over 25 years of experience in the field of information technology in the financial services industry, he has previously held a number of senior-level positions in Europe, at BNP Paribas-Personal Finance, FORTIS and at several large-scale financial institutions including Générale de Banque in Belgium. A native of Belgium, Mr. Fagnoule holds a specialized civil engineering degree in electronics from the University of Liège, in Belgium.
