Are you looking for an exceptional career opportunity in a fast-moving data center environment unique in Quebec? COLO-D is currently looking for a young talented individual who is passionate about IT to join its team as a Technician, IT Technical Support, Level 1  

Reporting to the Manager, IT and Telecommunications, your role will be to assist the IT Systems Administrator in the day-to-day management of the Level 1 IT Support requests. In addition to putting into practice your knowledge, you will have the opportunity to participate in several projects in a dynamic environment and benefit from the mentoring of all members of the IT and Operations team.

DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and provide technical assistance to users in our different COLO-D data centers;
  • Configure computer hardware and software;
  • Connect equipment and make sure their compatible;
  • Install computer or network components; configure, clean and/or maintain equipment and perform minor repairs required for such equipment;
  • Respond to users’ requests for assistance and provide relevant information. If necessary, you will have to meet the customer to troubleshoot the hardware and software, or if you cannot resolve the situation yourself, you will refer them to qualified people;
  • Document and update the procedures in our Wiki;
  • Maintain inventory of IT hardware and software programs in our asset management system;
  • Respond to external customer requests within required deadlines and redirect them to the right person, if necessary.

Qualifications

  • AEC, DEC or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience;
  • Knowledge of Windows and the MS Office 365 (required);
  • Knowledge of JIRA management software (asset);
  • Analytical mind, logical sense and good ability to solve problems;
  • Sense of responsibility, autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Ability to work in a team in a SME enterprise;
  • Ability to express yourself and communicate, have good interpersonal skills and feel comfortable speaking with customers internally;
  • Interest in new technologies;
  • Willingness to learn and improve your acquired knowledge;
  • Bilingualism required (French, English – spoken & written);
  • Possess a class 5 driving license.

DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Assist in technical support for customers (Hands & Eyes services);
  • Available shift work, to cover 24/7 needs;
  • Install server cabinets and supervise the installation of electric outlets and cabling;
  • Participate actively in a continuous education program on the data center installations (generators, UPS, RPP, PDU, CRAC, DCIM, biometric security, etc.);
  • Perform daily visual inspections on major data center equipment;
  • Monitor and manage equipment alarms from the surveillance system (DCIM);
  • Update data center documentation (plans, instruction manuals and procedures);
  • Ensure customers are following appropriate rules and proceedings;
  • Perform data center daily and weekly maintenance of the technical areas (as needed);
  • Willingness to enhance existing knowledge/skills;
  • Must be available to work on a 12-hour night shift (6 pm to 6 am), 7 days per two weeks (4 days a week/3 days the other week, etc.);
  • Must be available to occasionally change working schedules, for a maximum of 4 weeks per year (day/evening/night/weekend), for replacements of co-workers.

 

Qualifications

  • Overall knowledge of Data Center and telecommunications environment (an asset);
  • Experience in network cabling (an asset);
  • Must be able to be multitasked in a fast-paced environment;
  • Customer focused attitude with some previous customer service experience;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Basic computer skills required;
  • Bilingual (French/English) required;
  • CEGEP or technical training required.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the development and optimal use of digital resources: updating the website, social media, email marketing, online marketing;
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with the communications agencies to produce and develop content that will maintain and portray the company’s corporate image, its organizational values and culture;
  • Manage the annual marketing budget and follow-up on marketing activities (advertising and promotional material) surrounding different events, campaigns, sponsorships and partnerships;
  • Identify national and international events the team might attend and manage the administrative side of such activities;
  • Collaborate with the sales team to follow-up on its various activities;
  • Prepare and standardise customer’s corporate presentations and other documents linked with sales;
  • Develop strong relationship with partners, including international delegates, and manage communications between parties;
  • Write press releases, publish news on the company website, etc.

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or other relevant studies;
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in communications and marketing;
  • Passion for communications, new and digital technologies, excellent knowledge of social media, web design and referencing;
  • Must be able to be multitasked in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent writing skills (French/English), organizational and planning skills required;
  • Must be creative and demonstrate leadership;
  • High level of autonomy and responsibility;
  • Manage stress and priorities effectively;
  • Advanced knowledge of WordPress and MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook);
