Patrick DavidPresident and Chief Executive Officer
Patrick David is the founder and CEO of COLO-D. His responsibilities include the development of the overall vision, strategic planning and execution of the company’s ambitious business plan. In addition, Patrick works diligently to maintain COLO-D’s reputation for excellence with clients and partners. Patrick David has been involved in the data center industry for over 15 years and is a pioneer in the development of large-scale data centers in Canada. Prior to founding COLO-D, Patrick worked for one of the very first companies to offer data center colocation solutions in Canada. Patrick has also worked as an international commercial real estate consultant at a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and as an attorney at a major law firm. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from UQAM in Montreal and a law degree from the University of Montreal. He is a member of the Quebec Bar.
Daniel Laurin, P. Eng.Executive Vice President, Engineering and Client Solutions
Daniel Laurin is responsible for the design, development, implementation and delivery of customized data center environments. His extensive expertise allows COLO-D clients to benefit from the most advanced technical solutions. Daniel is one of Canada’s leading experts on data center development. After a successful career within IBM’s data center construction department, he co-founded and managed for over 20 years one of Canada’s first engineering firms specialized in the design, development and construction of data centers for major clients, including Rogers, Telus and Fido. Daniel graduated from McGill University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
Sébastien Pelletier, CPA, CA, CVA, MBAVice President, Finance, Administration and Quality
Sébastien Pelletier oversees the finances and administrative functions of the company, as well as the certification and compliance programs to which COLO-D adheres. He brings over 15 years of financial management experience having worked with businesses experiencing rapid growth. During the past seven years, Sébastien headed the financial departments of high-growth companies in the technology and distribution sectors. Prior, he worked as an investment banker for Scotia Capital, leading both M&A and corporate finance assignments, and in private equity at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where he participated in direct investments totalling over a billion dollars. Additionally, he advised healthcare and technology related companies as a strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little in Boston. Sebastien graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from HEC Montréal and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from McGill University. He is also a Canadian Certified Public Accountant (CPA, CA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).
Roman Kowalczyszyn, P. Eng.Vice President, Client Operations
Roman Kowalczyszyn is responsible for managing COLO-D’s relationship with its major clients. Roman is the perfect interface for COLO-D’s clients as he has more than 25 years of experience in the management and operation of data centers for major corporations in Canada and has developed a unique expertise in understanding client expectations. Previously, he spent 10 years as the National Data Center Manager for Telus. He has also worked with many companies to convert their business strategy into technological requirements for state-of-the-art data centers located in cities across Canada. Roman graduated in electrical engineering from Queen’s University. He is a member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and AFCOM, an organization dedicated to continuous learning and exchange between data center managers and other professionals involved with data centers.
Michel Côté, P.Eng., EMBA, ATDVice President, Operations and Telecommunications
Michel Côté is in charge of COLO-D’s telecommunications and special projects. He also oversees data center operations, including information technology and security. With over 25 years of data center and telecommunication network experience, both domestically and internationally, he excels in both operations and the management of technically complex projects. He has led the design and implementation of large data centers in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba. Previously, he also held important positions at Nortel Networks in Europe and at Bell Canada. Michel holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Laval University, an EMBA from CIREM-HEC Montréal and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. He is also a member of the Associations of Professional Engineers of Ontario and Manitoba, and has earned an Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) certification from the Uptime Institute.
Virginie SimoneauVice President, Sales and Strategic Partnerships
Virginie Simoneau is Vice President, Sales and Strategic Partnerships. As head of COLO-D’s sales force, her responsibilities include leading her team to achieving high customer satisfaction levels and increasing the company’s market share. Well-known for her drive, Virginie has an impressive track record with over 17 years of experience in the sale of complex solutions for IT and telecom players, including Fibrenoire, Videotron and IBM. She is a strong believer in improving customer relationships through personalized service. Virginie’s solid customer focus, effective communications skills and proven leadership are considerable assets for COLO‑D.
Philippe ViviaDirector of Operations
Philippe Vivia is in charge of COLO-D operations, electromechanical infrastructure and site security. In addition, he is involved in the implementation of innovative development and operating processes for our state-of-the-art data centers, as well as in the management of our related solutions offering. Before joining COLO-D in 2017, Philippe was Director of Operations at Equinix, in France and in Brazil. While at Equinix, he was one of the leading strategists behind client activation procedures, network architecture and technical infrastructure. Prior to Equinix, Philippe made a significant contribution to developing the infrastructure of Orange, one of Europe’s leading telecommunications providers. A nuclear engineer by trade, Philippe is well-known for his planning expertise. He holds a specialized master’s degree in Quality, Security and the Environment from the Université de Lyon. He is also an accredited tier specialist (ATS) of the Uptime Institute.
Charles DenisDirector, Customer Experience
With more than 25 years of experience in IT, Charles Denis has held key positions with leading multinational telecommunications companies such as Nortel Networks and Bell Canada. He was one of the pillars of the development and optimization of the customer experience of the various contact centers. He has also overseen the sound management of a number of major client accounts. Charles also served as Director of Operations for Bell Canada’s National Hosting Centers.
Charles has an excellent ability to understand the technical needs of large companies. He is a seasoned specialist in large enterprise data centers, accumulating more than twenty years of experience. It plays a key role in the development of COLO-D in the North American market. It is an indispensable asset for companies who want to acquire cutting-edge solutions.
Marc CreelDirector, International Sales
A seasoned specialist who focuses on results, Marc Creel is a high-level sales professional with more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, information technology and cloud computing industries. He is responsible for COLO‑D sales in the United States and Asia. Marc has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach, and has devoted his career to being at the cutting edge of communication technologies. He has been based in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Los Angeles and New York where he designed, sold and built next-generation networks for major clients throughout North America. Specializing in SIP, MPLS, VoIP and IP VPNs, he can build efficient and effective networks that increase productivity and maximize cost-effectiveness. Marc’s expertise in data centers and cloud computing is recognized and in high demand. He enables corporate clients to advance their goals with confidence and precision.
Jonathan RabanoDirector, Business Development
Jonathan has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, ICT, security, professional services, hosting and cloud computing with organizations such as Bell Canada, Primus-Black Iron Data and Zayo Canada (formerly Allstream Inc). The key success is his ability to effectively align technology solutions with the businesses objectives of his clients. Jonathan is responsible for COLO‑D’s sales growth in Canada and the United States, and for operating the Ontario branch located in Markham. Jonathan has earned degrees from Ryerson University (BBM) and York University’s Schulich School of Business.
